Free Lovable cost check

Your Lovable app works.
Now see what it really costs.

Lovable now pays for your app's traffic out of the credits you build with, and pauses the backend when they run out. Connect your repo and see, in about two minutes, what you'd pay on your own Supabase, your own server, or building with Claude Code instead.

  • Private repos welcome
  • Read-only access
  • Code never stored
  • No card, no newsletter

Where a Lovable bill goes

Most credits don't go into your app. They go into one bug.

One founder's usage export, four weeks 412 credits

The bug: a trigger on auth.users that only fired for email signups, so Google users crashed after login. Lovable patched the symptom four times. A developer reading the SQL found it in about 20 minutes. The full story.

20

free Cloud credits a month

Since June 2026, your live app's database, storage and functions are paid in "run credits" from the same balance you build with. Past 20, your users' traffic is spending your build budget.

0

credits pauses your backend

Run out, and AI features stop and the backend pauses shortly after. Your users can't log in, and while it's paused you can't export your data either.

$0.30

per top-up credit on Pro

$15 per 50 credits on Pro, $30 per 50 on Business. Fine for building. Expensive as a hosting bill, and that's what it becomes once you have users.

How it works

Two minutes. Three steps. Real numbers for your app.

Four ways out

Every step takes you further from Lovable. Stop at any of them.

Example app: Business plan, $400 a month, running on an X-Large Cloud instance. Cloud costs are our estimates; your report uses your numbers.

Tier 1

Own your Supabase

You save

$295 /mo

New bill: Lovable $80 + Supabase $25

Database, users, files and functions move to a Supabase project in your name.

You keep: Building and hosting in Lovable, exactly as today.

$150 to $600 once, by table count

Tier 2

Own your server

You save

$279 to $308 /mo

New bill: Lovable $80 + your server $12 to $41

One server runs your app and a self-hosted Supabase. Coolify deploys every push, with SSL, backups and preview links.

You keep: Editing in Lovable, through GitHub.

$500 setup, plus the tier 1 move

Best for this app

Tier 3

Build without Lovable

You save

$339 to $368 /mo

New bill: Claude Pro $20 + your server $12 to $41, no Lovable

Claude Code on the web ($20 a month) edits your repo from a chat and opens a pull request. You check the preview link, merge, it's live.

You keep: Building by describing what you want, in the browser.

$300 on top of tier 2

We go through your code and database ourselves: security holes, slow queries that inflate usage, the bugs that keep eating credits.

Checking your GitHub connection...

No sales pitch in disguise

Sometimes the answer is: stay.

Lovable is a great deal while you're building. If your bill is the basic plan and your app is quiet, the check says so, in plain words, with the numbers next to it.

We'd rather you come back when it pays off than sell you a migration you don't need. That's also why the check costs nothing.

Report for: Pro plan, $35 a month, Tiny Cloud instance

Stay on Lovable for now.

  • Tier 1 $50/mo, costs $15 more
  • Tier 2 $37 to $66/mo, costs $2 to $31 more
  • Tier 3 $32 to $61/mo, between $26 more and $3 less

Revisit when top-ups or Cloud credits push your bill up. The checklist stays valid.

Lovable is a great website builder but if you host your website on Lovable and your website scales you will spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars keeping up your website, and that's why I recommend (Lovable2Live.com) because this business will help you migrate your website off of Lovable onto your own Supabase and if you don't know Supabase is way cheaper to scale started at 1GB of storage/data for free so (Lovable2Live.com) will save you from spending hundreds of dollars

Lovable 2 Live has a real focus on quality. They're the team we trust on Klick.now when something has to work in production, and they're always straight with us about what's worth building and what isn't. Easy recommendation.

Questions

Before you connect anything

How much does Lovable cost?

Pro is $25 a month and Business $50, each with 100 credits, plus 5 free daily credits. Top-ups are $15 per 50 credits on Pro and $30 per 50 on Business. Since June 2026 your live app's traffic on Lovable Cloud is paid from the same credits (20 free Cloud credits a month), and the Cloud instance size adds to that every month (Large and up typically costs well over $150 a month by our estimates), so a busy app can cost far more than the plan price. Prices checked October 2026.

What can your GitHub app see?

Only the repos you pick when you install it, and only to read them. It can't push code, open issues or change settings, and it never touches your database. You can remove it any time under GitHub, Settings, Applications.

Do you keep my code?

No. Files pass from GitHub to your browser through our server, which doesn't store them. Your browser turns them into a list of facts (table names, function names, counts). That list, your GitHub username and the repo name are all we receive, so we can send the report and follow up if you ask.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Lovable that still feels like Lovable?

For building: Claude Code on the web. You describe a change in a chat, it edits your GitHub repo and opens a pull request, and your server gives each one a preview link. No visual editor, but no credits either: Claude Pro is $20 a month. For running the app: your own Supabase, or your own server with Coolify.

Why does the tool sometimes tell me to stay?

Because on the basic plan with little Cloud usage, Lovable is cheap, and we would rather say so than sell you a move you don't need. Leaving starts paying off when top-ups and Cloud traffic push the bill up.

Do I need a developer to do the move?

For tier 1 the checklist is enough if you are comfortable with Supabase. Tiers 2 and 3 involve a server, so most people have us set them up once, for a fixed price. Either way the report is yours to keep.

My repo is in an organization. Will it work?

Yes, if you can install apps there. If you can't, GitHub sends your admin a request, and the check works once they approve it.

Only want the database checklist for a public repo? Use the migration checker.
